Our 4x4 safari Land Cruisers

On safari your vehicle is your viewing platform for most of the day. Here is what ours offer, and what to ask about any safari vehicle.

A Haradali Adventure safari Land Cruiser with roof hatch among palms in Tarangire

The roads of northern Tanzania are rough: corrugated tracks, deep sand, mud in the rains and steep slopes. A proper 4x4 with high ground clearance is what gets you to the wildlife and out again. All of our safaris run in Toyota Land Cruisers with a roof hatch, with an experienced driver-guide.

What is in the vehicle

Features of a Haradali safari vehicle

Private or shared?

A private vehicle gives you control: when to leave at dawn, how long to stay with a sighting and when to head back to camp. If you travel as a couple or small group, you share the vehicle with nobody else. Ask us about private and group options when you enquire.

Questions to ask about any safari vehicle

  • Is it a 4x4, and how old and how well maintained is it?
  • How many guests share it, and does everyone have a window seat?
  • Does it have a roof hatch that opens fully for viewing and photography?
  • Is there somewhere to charge phones and cameras?
  • Is it fitted with a radio or phone contact with the office for emergencies?
  • What happens if it breaks down?

We are happy to answer these in writing for any trip we propose.
