How long should I allow?

  • One day: Arusha National Park, Tarangire or Lake Manyara. An early start also makes Ngorongoro possible, but it is a long day.
  • Three to four days: a loop of Tarangire, Manyara and Ngorongoro, or Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
  • Five days or more: add extra nights in the Serengeti to follow the herds, or combine with Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar.

For help choosing, read our comparison of the northern parks and the guide to the best time for a safari.
